Our Club At Conquest 2025

/

The Easter weekend fast approaches, and with it, the Conquest gaming convention!

On April 18th-20th at the Coburg Town Hall, Conquest will play host to a rich range of tabletop games and freeform larps. Sign-ups are now open through the Warhorn portal, and if you want to try anything out, we encourage you to get in fast – games are very quickly booking up! A couple of freeforms have opened up second sessions to run on Sunday after selling out their first, including Usurper and Min Min.

Caligo Mundi is excited to officially present Usurper! as an example of the games we run, written by the amazing Aaron Fenwick, whose games we know and love, as one of the most experienced GMs at the club; currently busy running both Plotholes Tabletop Day, and as one of the STs of Babylon 4. Combining Aaron’s GM history with the success of the last run of Usurper! at Caligo Mundi in 2024, we know that players are going to have a great time with this game at Conquest.

Unofficially, there are also a few other games being run by other Caligo Mundi members and accomplished GMs – including:

  • Catch Me I’m Falling, run by Travis Hall (written in partnership with Emily Jackson, and previously run at Caligo in 2017, run at Phenomenon in 2012);
  • Min Min, by Fi (previously run at Phenomenon in 2011);
  • Dead Reckoning, by Random (previously at Conquest in 2005 and 2014) and;
  • in the tabletop section, Spire: The City Must Fall, run by William Arnott (an exciting new one-shot, set in the world of Spire which is published by Rowan Rook and Decard. Will is currently one of the STs of Vaesen).
  • Alchemist University, run by Alexa and Amanda – a delightfully playful game about being alchemists, involving the handling of real live chemicals!

If you have a chance to catch any of these games, we highly recommend it, as every one of these GMs are fantastic at what they do. If you’re one of the lucky ones who’s gotten into booked-out sessions, we can’t wait to hear the stories of how it goes! Descriptions of the games themselves can be found on the Conquest website.

And lastly, a special shout out to our Secretary of the board, Lisa. Lisa has been hard at work as a volunteer games wrangler for Conquest. We are already lucky to have Lisa as a kind and wonderful community member, and she goes above and beyond in showing love for this art form and this community and helping it thrive. Thank you, Lisa for your hours of volunteering and leadership. To Lisa, and to anyone reading, may all your adventures continue excellently, both in and outside of games!
