Threehold

It is midwinter and the changelings of the three allied freeholds of the city are gathering for their solstice rites. They will bless their festival of rebirth, remember their past, and renew their vows of fealty. They will dance, drink, sing, duel and love, for all these things and more are blessed on the solstice day. At midwinter especially, the fae must protect the spark of humanity’s creativity from the dark that encroaches on it, so it can flourish again when spring one day returns.

Time: 2pm for a 2:30 start. The day will start with workshops in the afternoon, followed by a dinner and costume break about 5–6pm with game to run until about 10:30pm.

Game Info

Penny and Jason are doing a second run of Threehold, their Changeling: the Dreaming larp using Nordic-style consent mechanics. The second run will be in Melbourne on 2 June. (previous run was in Canberra)

There will be a few changes from the first run: additional characters, changes to the way they’re doing character relationships and workshops, and some changes to a few characters.

Feedback is strongly encouraged, so that they can polish the game up to be good enough to run again at Phenomenon in October this year.

This game is designed to let you try out the consent and safety mechanics used in blockbuster Nordic style games like the College of Wizardry and Convention of Thorns. You’ll learn the mechanics and playstyle in a comprehensive pre-game workshop, before trying them out with powers, romance, combat and politics.
